AAU POWERLIFTING RETURNS TO FLORIDA

TAMPA Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Powerlifting returns to Florida Dec. 15 at the Short Fitness Center on MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. 
The MacDill fitness center will host both the AAU Florida State Bench Press and Deadlift Championship, and the AAU Armed Forces Bench Press and Deadlift Championship. All entrants must be AAU members, and will qualify to set national open, national armed forces and Florida state records in their respective weight divisions.
The Florida state meet is open to lifters of all ages, including first-timer lifters, and lifters in the youth and teen divisions. Competitors may compete in divisions of both weight class and age group, with masters age groups contested in five-year increments. There are categories for lifters as young as age 5 at this meet.
The Armed Forces Championship meet is open to all active duty, reserve/Guard or retired military personnel with valid ID, or individuals who can show proof of military service with a DD 214 discharge form. The Armed Forces meet is also contested in age and weight categories.
